http://videos.howstuffworks.com/hsw/17676-the-executive-branch-the-executive-branch-video.htm

This video is about the process of the constitution and the people we elect to enforce laws. We no longer have kings and queens, we have presidents who we elect. The president has no more power than anyone else, and we the people control the government. Many people believe that we have the best government, because no one has the most power. The executive branch may include the president, be he has the same amount of input as everyone else. We have a system of checks in balances. This system makes sure every branch is doing their job. Everyone corrects everyone, so that there are no mistakes made.

  1. Jocelynn--what happened to the blog format illustrated on your assignment sheet?

You may want to revise some of the posts and I will give you an example of what we need to improve here:

In this executive branch post you don't examine an article or video about the executive branch IN ACTION, but rather an explanation of how it works. We've looked at the Constitution already--so we know how the exec. branch works.

You write that the president has no more power than anyone else--you and I fundamentally know that's not true. The president is extremely powerful--much more so than you or I. He can make treaties, command troops, issue executive orders, appoint judges...that's a lot of stuff ordinary folks don't do!

I'd like you to revise your last 6 posts to improve your score. Please meet with me before doing so because we'll work on one together.

    7-12 score: 30/60
